Hi, I just found my Hertz Sports Car Club membership card in the back of the desk drawer. #10533 if that means anything. It's a little scuffed from being carried in my wallet from when we could rent the beasts in the 60's; but is in pretty good shape with no chips or anything like that. Could someone suggest what it might be worth and give suggestions on how for fairly sell it. I have a Pantera now. Thanks, Richard Marks
As for value.....it might be worth quite a bit! I had a hertz sports car club jacket that sold for 960 on ebay i think, and that was because i wanted a quick sale. The past three jackets on ebay had sold for 1100-1200 on ebay. Also, the last GT350H post card to sell sold for like 80 and that wasnt in very good condition. Please post some pics! Vern
Please post a picture/scan! I'd love to get a good 300 dpi scan of that baby. I could restore it on my computer, and change the name for a keepsake gift for my dad, since he has a GT350H.
Whatever Bob Gaines thinks it's worth, I will bid one dollar more..(lol). Hello bob, just a chukle for you my friend...... Gino
You guys keep talking like this, and I am gonna have to take a picture of my Hertz Sports Car Club Garment Bag.... Black with two gold stripes, and the Hertz club logo!!! Anybody ever see one sell on E_bay??? Mark
Saw one on ebay not 2 months ago...i think the starting bid was 125 and the buyitnow was set at 250. Was a good item...had a few imperfections...a perfect one would proble run 350 but i dont know if the one on ebay actually sold. Hope THis Helps Vern
Thanks, I did not see it on E_bay.. Hard to put a value on some on this stuff, You never see these items... Mark
I copied the pics to my business web site and here are the links. Cut and paste into your browser http://www.justtennis.net/Pics/HertzSCCFront.jpg http://www.justtennis.net/Pics/HertzSCCBack.jpg I got the card in early 1966 on a job interview to California. I rented a White with Blue stripes GT350H. Not the Black with Gold! Being a college student it was a really cool experience; the car was great. Nine months later, now hired and on a business trip, I rented another one in Philadelphia. This was Black and Gold. It had had the strong Shelby motor, but had been used a bit and pulled badly to one side. Very unpleasant. Pulled so badly that my boss, a little Japanese guy, could not drive it. Filed a money back complaint with Hertz and they said that they could find nothing wrong. I figure this lack of ability to maintain the cars probably eventually hurt rentals. I wonder when Hertz stopped renting them? Regards, Richard
The paper inside the plastic is almost exactly 3-1/2 x 2-1/4. I've gotten several requests about selling it. I don't think I want to sell. It's kind of cool to keep for now.
Thank you very much for posting the picture it and the story are very cool.Tony Branda used to sell a repro of the card. I can't wait to dig it out and compare them. It might have to wait until I get back from SEMA.
