You really can't tell from the front what the wheel is. The reproductions are really good! If you get a photo of the back, I can help.

Hi Bullitt. I hate to make judjements without an actual photo of the back of the wheel. They are so similar to each other, that you may not be able to tell. The EFFPI wheels were used for several different applications and have different lengthed hubs that only a trained eye can tell. Some with only an 8mm difference. I don't have a problem with the eBay link wheel you provided but would like to be 100% sure for your wheel.
I like your Bullitt handle. The EFFPI 67 wheel is the Bullitt wheel but without the leather wrap. I have a new Bullitt wheel if anyone needs one.

With regards to the previously mentioned E-Bay auction, What is the deal with that $4500..minimum not reached?? Is that for real?... or was it a little charade with a bunch of people bidding on something that they knew they weren't going to get because they knew it wasn't really for sale at all??

I should sell this 66 wheel I have and really test that market..

That is a 67 Shelby steering wheel. If the horn wires are still making contact with the stainless steel contact rings, it can be quite valuable. Congratulations

I think there are gougers everywhere. A 67 wheel sold about a year and a half ago for $6,500 and now everyone thinks they have gold. What happened was a wealthy purchaser needed a wheel to complete a restoration and paid through the nose for it. Not too many buyers out there like that and the reproductions wern't available yet. Your 66 optional wheel is a nice piece and if you installed it, you know how comfortable it is. There is an add on eBay now that is a bit distorted from misquotes taken from this foreum about it's rarety. Ho hum Ebay can be a jungle. There was a previous add that was worse, so buyer beware. I have restored dozens of wheels for people through the years. My recomendation is buy an original if the wheel is in good condition, horn contacts work and it is a good deal.
The reproductions are out and are really nice. They are twice as strong and half the price. I took my original EFFPI wheel off my car, hung it on my wall. The was an absolute nightmare to remove. I installed a reproduction. The horn now works and I can use a puller to remove it rather then a sledge hammer. It also won't create a fire like the FIV wheel. Once installed you can't tell the difference. The original EFFPI wheel looks great hanging on the wall in my office.
