Got my Performance White 2007 SHELBY GT March 23, have less than 4,000 miles and a lady went up a one way street the wrong way and slammed into my dream car. I should have it back in about 6 weeks and I'll tell everyone how it turned out.

OUCH....Sorry to hear that Jack. At least you could get it fixed, it wasn't totaled. Thats a fear I have, that someone will total mine and then I'm out all that money. I'm afraid to drive mine. I bought it May 12 and have only 211 miles on it. Of course I paid the "stupid tax" (aka Market Adjustment) so that insurance will only go to book value if it's totaled.

You should check into "gap" insurance... I think it is standard everywhere and is only about $300 for the life of the loan... Granted the value and the loan amount will usually balance out at some point but I always fear getting a new car and getting it creamed within the first few months...

DOUG, Thanks for the info. I do have the gap insurance. My problem is now getting parts. Its been over 2 months now and I'm probably looking at Sept. to get my baby back. I'm now driving a 2000 neon. This summer is about shot and I'll probably get my Shelby back in time for the first snow storm. Anyway we get these cars to drive and enjoy them, so lets lightup the tires when we can. Enjoy the rest of the summer everybody and be safe.

I paid for the car with a home equity loan (prime minus 2%) a little less payment for the same thing. I just gotta be careful! I don't drive it that much and I never really planned on driving allot anyway.

    Light-um-up

 OMG... My wife would have my manhood hanging in the closet if I tried to roll my "car habit" into the house loan...
