Here is new set of konis for sale. same color as my my original ones off my GT350-orange-not red like the new ones. 1991 date codes. All 4 new in the boxes. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/e...STRK:MESE:IT&viewitem=&item=160149028511&rd=1
I question the high price of these Koni's. Where is value? Having a 1991 date code doesn't put them in the same league with 1960's date coded Koni's. A replacement Koni is a replacement Koni. Either it's original or it's not. If I were in the market for a set, I'd buy them new for $500 a set, paint them the period correct orange and slap on the vintage Koni decal. Z. Ray
Hey I don't disagree with zrayr. I ran the ad hoping that I could pull 500 out of them (reserve was 400) and noted that you could buy these New ones or new ones that I believe Branda sells for 537/set of 4 and repaint. Well, while the auction was going on I sold another set outright dated 1985. The 1985 ones were identical to the ones from my 1970 Shelby dated June 1970 which I believe are correct for my car because it was shippped to Bressells in Feb of 1970 and sold new there on Sept.30 1970. Until Claude DuBois releases the selling info on my car and other export Shelbys to Europe I cannot verify them to be "correct". The 1991 ones have 2 holes at the top of the rears-cannot see when mounted. Other minor stamping differences between the 3 sets I had also. I can tell you that the best riding Mustang I ever owned out of 30+ cars is my 1970 Shelby with the Konis on it. The first time I drove the car the ride was so different than any Mustang I had owned up until that point. Never question Ebays prices because they do not make sense. I have seen used repro parts sell higher than the same ones new from many vendors. For the record I had been following Konis thru my Shelby searches over the last 9 months and NEVER seen a set for over 550.00. I sold a NOS set of "SHELBY letters for 535 which blew my mind. I finally traded a guy I knew an extra "L" for an "S" to make another complete set. Offered that set 6 weeks later to the winning bidder and the 2nd highest bidder for 475.00. Neither took them. Had what they needed. Sometimes its just having the right auction at the right time. I had 3 parts not meet my reserve which were lower than similar parts in lesser condition went for in the last 6 months. Go figure-well better not because Ebay makes no sense. Gary
Exactly. the buyer(s) set the market, not the seller. Especially with auctions like ebay. If someone thinks the shocks, or any item, is worth x amount, then it is, at least to them, on that particular day. Z. Ray
