Most of us know there were 36 GT350 R models built in 1965.
All of the Shelby numbers are known --- I think!
Does anyone on the list know what the Ford (VIN) is for each of the Shelby numbers?

SAAC knows, but they're not telling. If that information was made public, someone might be able to "find" an original "R" car. Just imagine the reaction from someone who suddenly found out the his really big bucks investment was a fake. Not to mention the confusion surrounding the original if it should ever be found. We might end up with many more than the 36 R-Models than were originally built. This is good policy on SAAC's part.

This same problem surrounds big block corvettes. Today there are more 67 big block corvettes then were produced in 1967.

The same thing applies to Z-28 Camaro's. The only way to really authenticate one of these cars is with the original build sheet.
There are a number of 65 Shelby's and R-Models listed as destroyed. The last thing SAAC wants is for some of those cars to be mysteriously resurrected. This has happened with at least one Cobra race car. A nightmare situation.
