In reality, it's no color. Not one 67 Shelby left the factory with stripes similar to those on the 65's and 66's. One exception: the 67 Super snake. narrow-wide-narrow.
All the ones you see are either owner installed, or, dealer installed.

I always wondered why they only stripped the cars in white. If they were only a owner/dealer supplied option why couldn't they have stripped the cars in other colors. I have always wanted to put black Super Snake stripes on my lime green 67 GT500. Black would look so much cooler on a lime green car then white....but this is just my opinion.

The "correct" color (if there is one as Rod pointed out none are original) is Chevrolet commercial white Ditzler 2185/ Dupont 817

However, it was a dealer installed option in '67 and somewhat rare. The
Rally Stripes ( the name for Le Mans stripes used in 1967 ) were Chevrolet
Commercial White for color cars; Guardsman Blue for White cars. Side stripes
were the same combination. Since its your car, do it your way!

When I added lemans stripes to my car in 1989 I was told by a Shelby restorer to use GM color "frost white". Is this the same as the "Commercial White" you are referring to?

I was told and I did some investigating on the internet, that the stripes were painted mustang Wimbeldon White Dupont # 4480 Ditzler # 8378.

Two years ago I cloned a 67 mustang conv. into a Shelby and used Wimbeldon White for the stripes. Turned out awesome. Just my opinion.:)

Always have to be careful with what you hear or read... especially the internet.

The factory stripes were not Wimbeldon and the instructions given to the dealer by Shelby did not list this as the color to use either.

Of course if an owner didn't know or care the dealer or a paint shop would use what ever they wanted. Allot of cars were shot with Wimbeldon White during the late 70-and into the 80's before much of the factory stuff reached the owners

    67GT500#2100,

I don't know if GM's "frost white" is the same as Chevrolet Commercial
White. A look at a GM paint guide might be helpful to determine that.

I just checked the Shelby Registry; and it lists the Chevrolet Commercial
White as the proper white paint for white stripes.

I read, perhaps somewhere in the Shelby Registry; the reason Shelby used the Chevrolet Commercial White paint, was to make the cars that were painted in other colors, to be more noticeable and stand out.
