I just can't keep up with all the different new Mustangs out there. I guess it just goes to to show how popular the car is today. The same as it was in 1964. Some things never change. And just for the record, I've never been without a Mustang of some type since I started owning cars.

WELL, at least it is different. I wish Shelby would build more color combonations for the Shelby GT.

Yeah...its a cool color combo but the "Barrett-Jackson" Shelby? Come on, why must everything be about advertising? This BJ addition strikes me as something that could tarnish the shelby legend.

Well, you know the TWO main things when it comes to Business is: <1> Sex Sells and <2> Money TALKS. It is also said that, there is no such thing as bad advertising, just bad spinners .

No such thing as bad advertising....cant help to disagree.
Mayber this cant be bad in Barrett-Jackson's case but this is just sort of corny when it comes to ShelbyAutos dont you think?
    Best Regards,
    Vern

I can't help but wonder if they tack on a extra buyers fee? And does it come with a cool pair of sun glasses like Steve Davis wears, you know the ones you can wear in doors when you want to look cool! This car makes me step back and wonder how deep will they run the Shelby name into the ground to make a buck?

It is no cornier than the Playboy edition, the High Country Special edition, The California Special edition, the USA Sprint edition etc. etc. and lets not forget the Starsky and Hutch Torinos....! By the way, all the cars I just mentioned seem to bring a bit more than similarly equipped Mustangs in comparison.

I didnt know the High Country Special, the California Special, and the Sprint Mustangs were advertising for anything?
Starsky and Hutch was a cultural landmark not an auction company.
    As Tesgt350 said.....sex sells....hence the playboy addition.
This car is ADVERTISING FOR AN AUCTION COMPANY!!!!!!

    Vern

The Harley Davidson/FORD Truck???? How about that one!! the High Country special and California Special cars and the USA Sprint Spring Time Edition cars were created to increase sales and interest in different regions of the Country. none the less all were created to make Money! imagine how much some Fat cat will pay for the first Shelby/BJ Convertible at the Big Show??$$$$

I look at it like this........ I designed the "TRIBUTE EDITION SHELBY's" to honor Carroll Shelby for all he has done for the Automotive World. I liked what I designed and wanted to mass produce the Cars. I sought and received (18 months later) a Licensing Contract to do just that. I feel that Carroll is doing a Tribute Shelby to Honor Barrett-Jackson for all that they have done for the Carroll Shelby Children's Foundation. After all, look at how much money they helped raise for the Foundation. Just my 2 cents.

BJ sure does advertise alot about how much they give to charity. If giving to charity didnt give you more customers...would barrett jackson really do these things? I think they just know how to play the game. Sorry to be negative this whole last week but quite honestly the last few days on this forum have really not been great.

    Hey Vern,
Sorry you have not had a good few day because of what has been going on here lately. I know its hard to do but try to do what I have been doing........ Take a deep breath and just let it go.......... go with the flow. Carroll Shelby is looking towards the future while everyone else is looking to the here and now. I am a member of MCA and SAAC along with a couple of other clubs and also a new one call the MUSTANG SYNDICATE. I will also join Team Shelby. I only join Clubs for the info and help that they can provide and that have good standing and pride. I tend to speak my mind and say it like it is and I have pissed off some people just because they didn't want to hear the truth and I dont let it bother me. Life is to short to worry about the BS. The heads of SAAC will let us know what is going on with them when the time is right. Remember, we got a small piece of information out of context and sooner then we were supposed to receive it. The Glass is either half full or half empty, its up to you to decide which it is. I hope you have a better day tomorrow.
    David.

Its not really about the whole SAAC thing anymore.......quite honestly i really dont care a whole lot anymore.
I am just starting to see how much all the stuff in this hobby can be about money.
    Where is the passion anymore?
I too plan to join team shleby.....after alll...why not?
I still love everything in this hobby, but sometimes i think people lose sight of what all this is about.
    Best Regards,
    Vern

    I just can't help myself-

Even if I was in the position to buy a brand new Shelby Mustang- which right now I'm not - and even if it was rated at 1000 hp for an incredibly low price - which it's not - I would rather PUSH my old pickup truck uphill in the snow than drive ANYTHING commemorating B-J. I realize he has every right to enjoy free enterprise, but I also believe, as many do, that ever since he had the good fortune of inheriting his father's business that he and his partners have taken many of the the true "enthusiasts" out of the car hobby.
Yes our cars have increased in value, but no we can't enjoy them as we did years ago for fear of theft, damage, etc. because of some well to do types that love to be seen on T.V. Heck, a lot of us couldn't even buy our cars again at todays values! I understand that Mr. Shelby and Mr Jackson have combined in the past to raise money for different "charities ;) ", but I wouldn't trust....

    Just thinking out loud...
