    His next project must must be building a rocket, if he needs that kind of scratch. If someone gave Volo a million bucks for that 67 convertible Shelby, I hope they did their own research.

    Check out the placement of the Fender Emblems. I have seen a few 1967 Shelby G.T. 500's where the Emblems were mounted in the same place, and the Cars were Un Restored. But all the others have them installed higher and futher away from the door.

    That guy is Smoking Dope! I really liked the way this car was built. I enjoyed the story and the pics, but man Half a Million....No wonder the guy sold the thing!!

    It must be worth that much - it has those new fangled "in-bored" brakes

    I got bored reading the description at that time.

    Kinda makes ya sick when something fake is offered at a half a mill.
    Do you think he is even aware that the market is currently down from the last couple of years?

    What a beautiful car. Looks like it has been very professional built.

    What would you guys estimate it would cost to replicate?

    The Volo "Museum" is full of clones and cars with stories. Not a bad looking car.

    It all depends on who builds it and how much they charge per Hour. At $50.00 an Hour Labor plus Parts.......... I would say about $125K to build it.

    I also was wondering what kind of dope this guy was smoking. (Maybe Toppenish Fire Weed?):blink:

    This reminds me of an old P.T. Barnum story;

    P. T. Banrum bought a couple thousand cases of canned salmon for next to nothing. The reason he got it so cheap was it was white instead of pink. Everyone who knew about it thought that there would be no way for him to ever sell it as pink salmon was what was being promoted and everyone wanted at the time.
    He advertised as "Guaranteed not to turn pink in the can" Sold it all.

    Probably half that if you had it built in Europe. Fabrication is the second thing they teach you over there!

    Looks ok to me but I think the current price of $77,100.00 is high enough. :)

    The builder might have been a NASA engineer but he wasn't a Shelby historian because he side striped it like a 68.

    I'm sure it has been discussed before, but what is the correct side striping for a '67?

    On 67 Shelby - the GT350 or 500 lettering starts 1/2 inch from the door edge side with center stripe only on the wheel well side . 68 Shelby- the GT350/500 is centered between the door edge side and the wheel well opening side with the center stripe on ether side of the lettering .
