Please critique my engine

    Here are some newer pics.....can anyone see the changes.

    BTW...I pulled the HD solenoid and checked the date code....8md, that makes it dec 68 right

    Yes that would be Dec 68 A little earlier than any of the ones I've had but would still support the usage during the last half of 69 production.

    Will try and find time to look at your new pictures ... trying to get all caught up ... ya right <_<

    Another ? - Are the bolts in front of the shock towers on the inner fender panels supposed to be painted black?

    They were not in place when the engine compartment was painted - they are the same color/finish as the fender bolts

    which is cadmium plate s-39(silver) finish like the fender and hood hinge bolts.

    Yep ;)

    Unfortunately many area have made it impossible to do so owners often settle for bright or clear zinc instead

    Yeah, the shock tower bolts are black....as are the hood hinges, shock tower braces and almsot everything the previous owner could get to w/ a can of black spray paint. I appreciate you guys letting me know what the correct finishes are.
    I have been using AMK bolt kits for most of the engine compartment....they appear to be correct.

    Critique my engine-went too far

    Well, you guys did it....your picks and pans of my engine compartment made me pull the damn engine and start over!!!
    Actually, it had the wrong cam in it and ran like crap, so I decided to pull the engine and go thru it. Can't imagine the suspense when I pulled the rear plate and looked for the "c" on the back of the block......and there it was, along w/a partial VIN stamped (albeit poorly) on the LR pad.
    I am going to correct as many things ya'll told me about as I can. But do need so more info....what is the correst finish for the hood hinges and latch assy. Is it zinc posphate and oil??
    Also, I am going to install the correct mount for the space saver spare in the trunk....does any have a pic of where it should be welded in?
    Will post more as time goes on......

    BTW-any know of a fuel pump w/Jan or Feb date code for a decent price
