Will never pay over MSRP for a new car -- ever.

Heck, I've never paid more than a few hundred over invoice on any new car :)

But, that's just me -- I can appreciate those who pay high ADMs and get to play with the toys first in return... after all, on some level life is just one big quid pro quo.

I agree with the viewpoint of those that are against paying over MSRP. $40,000 - $60,000 is a pile of dough for a Mustang and as much as I like the GT500, it is still a Mustang. Naturally, this is my opinion only. I have no problem with anyone paying over MSRP in order to be first. I also don't think there's really anything wrong with dealers marking these cars up. I'll just sit tight until my dealer will sell me one at my price. I can be patient.

I'm new here and yes, I purchased a GT 500 over MSRP. I couldn't take it anymore and just had to have one. I paid 5K over sticker. I will say this, the 2008 GT 500 is impressive. The torque is amazing! After a CAI, tune and a 2.6" pulley it now breathes the way it was meant to. I'm not all that impressed with the interior as it looks almost like every other 07 or 08 Ford including my 07 Expedition but when you drop the hammer, hold on!

JonW, your a lucky guy! Maybe we will see a trend toward MSRP or lower. How about a KR at MSRP?

Over at stangsunleashed, there are a few for sale ads which want 100,000 for the KR.
My local dealer told me personally that they want 125 for the one KR that they are getting!
Thats crazy no matter who ya are!
I heard the road and track said that it is one of the only cars that they think will never suffer in value.....but havent we heard that before......anniversary corvettes anybody?
    Best Regards,
    Vern

I'd never pay more than MSRP for a vehicle that's still in production. That includes the KR or any other Shelby. Actually, I'd be stretching my own limits by paying MSRP - I've never done that before. I'm patient and I'll wait for a deal that I can live with.

The car was listed on eBay. It came from a small dealer in GA.

Stopped in a dealer today. On the window right next to the window sticker there was another piece of paper. On the top it said Something like Protecting the consumer. Cant remember exactly. Then it said market adjustment $30,000. Sticker was 46,000 and he wanted 76,000.Couldnt believe it. I guess this was his idea a "protecting the consumer" (GT-500)

Great car and performance, but not worth over MSRP.
