Hi All: I don't know why I thought of this but; where do the hood pin cables get attached to on your 67 Shelby? I looked at some pics online and I see two different locations. On some Shelbys it's riveted to the grill and others it riveted to the brackets that hold the hood pins. Which is right? The time for installing my cables is far away so I'm just curious for when the time comes. Maybe the answers should be published in the SHELBY RUNNING PRODUCTION CHANGES? Thanks! Jim
I have the original grille for #3014, no holes there. The original hood pin brackets have the holes in the outboard front corners. Al
I have the original grill for #3000. No holes on mine either. The car isn't here so I will have to wait until I go to the bodyshop and check out the hood pin brackets and look for holes. Thanks for your info Al.
Just had a look at mine.Mine are riveted on the grill.I have an inboard light car if that makes a differnce and is car #910.
3040 had them attached to the hood pin brackets. Could be a running production change if some of the inboard grilles had them one of two ways and the outboard grille had them both ways. If the change over occurred when they went from inboard to outboard grille, I would not necessarily consider that to be a production change. I'll let some others here ring in on this one before I make a decision.
I have #1207 GT-500 with inboards, and original grill. My hood pin lanyard attachement is front out board corner of hood pin bracket. Vinny
ok my Shelby is home and the metal work is DONE!. The hood pin support brackets each have a small hole drilled in the corner of the brackets. So #3000 cable lanyard attahment is at the hood pin brackets. Jim
