I finished installing my newly repaired AM radio.(66 GT350). My question is; I see there is a yellow multi-connector under the dash that is hot all of the time. If I connect my radio and light to this connector, everything works when I turn the radio on. Of course, if I forget to turn the radio off, I will have a dead battery. Other than the leaving it on issue, would it be OK to connect it this way?? Thanks

your way would work. But why not just hook it up the original way?

It's not exactly original underneath. Tape players etc. over the years. I don't know what the actual connection should be like. I have the Jim Cowles electrical book, but have trouble deciphering/ciphering it..Thanks
