What is the dfference between the Bendix brake booster and the Midland brake booster? Just curious as to which cars got which one and why. I am in the process of replacing mine but couldn't find much info other than checking what is in the car.
    Thanks Kevin

It was just a different suppler to different plant/times thing. If its got the band around it, its the Midland.

I knew the one with a band was a Midland. I was just curious if cars that had front disc brakes...bigblocks....or whatever got Midlands, or if it was adhoc on the line. Can you replace a Midland with the Bendix or are there other differences. Because I don't remember specifying when I replaced the master cylinder...but I could have.
    Thanks for the reply...Kevin

They are pretty much interchangeable (not sure about the pushrod) but if its a 68 Shelby I would expect to see a Midland in there. The engine size had nothing to do with what booster it got, it was just what vendor was supplying that particular factory at that time.

The Bendix booster uses a bolt on mounting bracket. They usually don't come on the booster from a rebuilder. They can be hard to come by.

IT appears to be more of a plant thing (certain plants got certain suppliers-parts) sort of thing

Kevin, besides the internal and external differences and the plant variation usage that Jeff mentioned, all the evidence indicates that Shelby usage was Bendix for 69/70 and Midland for 67/68. Bob
