hi there.... 2009 is the Taranaki Mustang Club -my club's turn to host the NZ National Mustang (and Shelby) Convention. It's not large in the scale of meetings etc you have in the states....maybe 135 cars 250 participants for four days of fun. We are a small club 50 members 125 cars and sponsorship is always difficult especially in this day and age of rising fuel, increasing daily living costs etc etc....you know where i am coming from....so im enlisting your help. On registration night we hand people a 'goodie bag' usually full of maps, vouchers, highlights of the area, - you know the stuff that you look at and will never use again......well this is where you may be able to help...... could you provide me with 230 -250 items (i know it's a lot) to put in our goodie bags next year (every participant gets a bag).....stickers, pens, paper pads, sunglasses, cheap leatherman lookalikes - you know the sort of stuff i mean. Even if you could put me onto someone that maybe able to help would be a real lead. ......and what do you get?? - some web exposure on the 'net downunder www.nzmustang.com , thankyou thankyou thankyou in all our written handouts and certificates for participants, and just knowing you have helpled a fellow shelby enthusiast.... i know im grovelling now but you get my drift....... this years covention is in ChristChurch in the south island and we hold next years in Taranaki in the north island........so why are you begging so early i hear you ask.... i know that budgets are set very early these days so enabling people to forward plan.... i could think of nothing better than getting my goodie bag and finding some authentic USA bits and pieces in it....- i know it would make my weekend and that's why im asking for your help.. if you are able to help us in anyway..... please don't hesitate to contact me snelby@xtra.co.nz thanks so much cheers Snelly
I know that in the past our local club has received goodie bag donations from several national firms - check with companies that provide car care products, wax's, etc. Also contact whoever is the big car insurer in your area for pens, note pads, magnetic stickers (good to check for hidden body work) and speaking of body work - collision repair shops and the like are sources as well - if you can tie a companies product or service to the car, that is where you will get what you need. Mike
thanks for your tips Mike..... i will certainly follow them up. Its always difficult going to companies with your hand out. Downunder Ford Falcon or Holden get alot more kudos than the humble Mustang and Shelby so that was why i put my request to you chaps (and Chappesses) in the USA. Again.....any assistance would be really apprec.........thanks
