I am only commenting because I don't want to get the author of this thread too confused but the vacuum diagram posted is for a 4 speed and not a auto like the authors picture indicates. A correct automatic equipped 428 vacuum diagram can be found in the shop manual. Bob

    Hmmm… Since I didn't see a kickdown rod I figured 4 speed.

Don't feel bad since no 69 "GT500" came with 4 speed and air conditioning I figured it was Automatic. I may be the one wrong. Bob

You're right. It's an Auto. And has an 8-track that still works although I only use one tape...Led Zeppelin IV...Stairway To Heaven. This car does not have the fuel vapor vent in the trunk. And the spacesaver tire has the bottle mounted under the wheel with part of the jack mounted on top and the scissor unit tightened down on the side between the tire and the floormat. There is an old piece of cardboard under the floormat. There are three stickers mounted inside the trunk lid...one is for the tractionloc differential. This could not have been installed at the factory because the dealer installed the tractionloc when the car was first purchased. Another sticker is for tire change and can't recall the third (car in storage garage several miles away). The othe thing...no tire pressure sticker in the glove box; it's on the driver's door which I understand is wrong (? ) There are stickers on the inside of each visor regarding the use of the harness belt...not sure if this is right either.

Was it cardboard under the trunk mat or a Masonite type of board material? The Masonite type material is what is normally seen. Everything except the tire sticker seems to be normal . The tire sticker application was probably done the last time the car was painted as the glovebox is were AO Smith was directed to install them. 1970 Shelby's used the regular Mustang sticker and installed it on the passenger door jam. I would NOT DRIVE THE CAR WITHOUT THE RECALL VENT. It is one of those things that until it happens to you you don't worry about it. I AM VERY SERIOUS. I have had a family member have his car burn up back in 1969 and as for myself I sold a car to a owner in Texas and he had the back end catch fire on the drive home. It destroyed all of the fiberglass in the rear. All because the vented fumes above the exhaust ignited. The original looking bent vent tubes are sold by many dealers and the installation isn't hard. You don't necessarily have to have the special (and hard to find original) non vented cap for this to work . You can get by with the original vented cap as there is no back pressure with the recall installed vented neck. I have never heard of someone losing their life over this but in all cases it messed up the car. Please don't become a statistic or even a warning footnote in the registry.Bob
