Hey Guy's, I'm trying to get this old girl on the road again and it just needs a lot. I'm considering replacing the leaf springs as they are sagging and all the bushings are rotted. Who carries the correct leaf springs for this car? I don't want to go and buy something and have it too weak to keep the rear up. I use to get the C7ZZ5560M's from Ford but they are long gone. They were perfect! Any help would be great. I don't need "correct, numbers match, etc" as this car will be a driver but something that will get sitting right again. Thanks!! Matt

Branda, Mustangs Unlimited, any repro parts dealer, I'm sure all carry them. Suggest going with urethane bushings, I redid my 67 GT350 from front to back with urethane on everything, and the ride is night and day different!

Whatever you do don't throw away your original springs
or at least the bottom leafs. They are marked and dated
specifically to your car. If I were you I would buy new springs
and replace the bottom leafs with your originals.

Used these guys for my KR. Fit exactly and looked identical. Made here in the US as well. They may have been the original supplier. I unbolted the original small leaf with the part number and swapped it to the new leaf assembly.

Glazier Nolan has a show-correct set for $185, which includes U bolts, eye bolts, and shackles. They come painted black, so if you want that last bit of "correctness", you'll have to deal with that. I just put a pair of these on a 67 GT350, very nice.

I would highly suggest Eaton as suggested by others. If you want the correct ride height etc. it is the way to go. All the others sell a one size fits all rear leaf. The Eaton will have to be detailed if you want it to look concours correct as it comes completely painted black. I would also like to add my agreement on the bottom leaf spring swap if the springs you have are original. The C7 -AR is on most all 67 Shelby's. Bob

If you plan on running the car hard then I recommend that you get 4.5 or 5-leaf rear springs. Otherwise if you are getting any traction at all you might experience axle hop. I have 5-leaf springs with decent street tires and I still get a (very) little wheel hop.

I'm running the "stock ride height" 5-leaf rear springs and you can see about 1" of space between the tire and the wheelwell.

Thanks for the replies! I will check with Eaton on Monday. They are a lot ,ore expensive than others but I really don't want to waste my efforts and get cheap springs! Any pics you might have would be great too. Did you get the improved handling springs? I think it was rated at 135 as compared to 113? Are you guys using poly bushings or the rubber? I took apart one side (drivers) to check everything out and lets see, both u bolts were bent, I could push the bottom of the leaf spring upwards a good inch or so by myself, and when separated from the rear end the leaf springs moved in and out about 1 1/2" or so! I would say it's pretty much shot. Over all what do you think about poly bushing for a "driver" not a show car for the whole car. I have them on my 66 Fastback and they are a little more rough. But, I know the 67's drive a lot different than the 66's! Any suggestions are greatly appreciated! Thanks, Matt
