It will if you have the back plate off of a shifter from a Boss 302,it has a hole in the back for it. Greg
The 70-73 factory installed Hurst Competition Plus is made to accept a special backup switch. The aftermarket Hurst Competition Plus lacks the integral bracket for that switch, but the aftermarket shifter has limit stops which the factory doesn't have, and the one on the back accepts a Hurst back-up switch, commonly available. You might be able to get a Ford 3-speed back-up switch to work, but I've never tried it. The Hurst switch is easy to use.
