anybody on hear ever hear of or know what became of the 68 gt 500kr conv. in a ohio garage? there was a 68 gt gt 500kr conv. that a little old lady owned after her husband passed away. he bought it new. had 37 k miles on it and was automatic and was black or dark green. was in the garage for years and the story goes that she wanted a roof put on her house and some where in the $50,000 to $80,000 range for it. does this ring a bell to anyone on the board here? i saw pics of it but never heard of the end results.

I believe I know the car your thinking of. But its a 70. not a 68. The color is silver jade metallic. It is an automatic. She still has it I call her monthly. Her son wont let her sell. I however did purchase a 68 KR lime gold vert in East Liverpool OH 6 years ago that was in a garage for alot of years, but no little old lady involved. :D

hello kr 02556. which part of ohio are you in? i'm in ashland county. anyhow the car im talking about is with out a doubt a 68 and it's dark color black or very dark green. yes it's an automatic. maybe quite possible we are talking about 2 different vehicles?? please do tell the story on finding your car. i love sniffing out barn/field finds and the stories about other people 's finds. i've been to many states (kentucky, tennessee) looking for cars, some of the stuff i've found made me sick but that's part of it. i've yearned to find that shelby in a barn or field yet. what's the story on the lime gold 70 vert that your bird dogging?

The car does exist and I have seen it myself. It is Highland Green with a white top and black interior. It is a GT500 not a KR. 428 automatic with 22K miles not 37K. I've been trying to buy it for years. I last offered $70K to no avail. That was last year. Now that the economy has tanked not sure if it is worth much more than that. It will need some work after sitting that long. Still tucked away in the garage it has been in since 1972, about a 1/4 mile from my inlaws. I hear the "Family" is already fighting over it and Grandma is still alive last I knew. It would make a great story if anyone ever gets their hands on it!

that car has still not been bought?? wow!! i believe the barrett jackson syndrome has gotten the best of that car. let me guess word got around about the car and everytime someone stopped and offered to buy it it inflated the families ego about the car and the price keeps going up. what a shame. and let me guess noone in that family has enough brains to attampt to get the car running ? highest bidder will get what ever that price may be.good luck with that car.
