Does anyone own one of these that is stock? Because they were all left over 69s I need to know if they added the evap system that 70 cars had. And if they did, did they swap out the 69 air cleaner for a 70 unit so it had all the spots for the hoses? Any information that could be provided would be great and pics if you have them! Bill
Bill , I am not sure if you are refering to the GT350 or the GT500 so I will try and be general. Only the 69 Shelby's that were converted to 70 Shelby's AND SENT TO CA had to pass CA emmision standard's and so the complete evaporative system had to be retrofitted to those cars. That was quite a extensive job. That also included the air cleaner with the connection for the paper hose from the charcoal canister. What is unclear is wether the 70 GT500 ram air cleaner was substited or the later 69 GT500 air cleaner base (there is a early and late 69 GT500 base) had a hole installed and "edited" (like the the GT500 carburator was) with the extra nipple added for the hose. This had to be done for both GT350 and GT500. The GT350 base is different then the GT500. If you are unsure about the placement of the extra hose nipple on a 69 base I would suggest getting a correct 70 base and forget it. The 69 vs 70 ram air base are worth about the same on the open market. I hope this helps. FYI there is a ebay auction for a 70 GT500 that has the CA emmisions as of this date .It is ebay 160556770405. It has been highly messed with so you would have to be careful using it as any kind of yard stick. Bob
