    What's the best engine oil & weight for a 2007 GT 500?

The spec is 5w-50w (which is hard to find)...I run Schaffer Oil full synthetic 5-50 with an Amsoil filter...

    Re: engine oil question

Thanks Lifter583. I found some Catrol Syntech 5w-50 and a K&N filter from
    Autozone. Thanks for the help.

    Re: engine oil question

Got another oil question; thought this was the best place for it...

I have 4,836 miles on the original oil, but it says "OIL CHANGE REQUIRED"
Scheduled oil change isn's supposed to happen until 7,500 miles. (2011 Shelby Cobra GT500)

    What gives?
(BTW, no previous indication of oil usage at 50% or 75% in the dash either)

Also, I'm going to contact the dealer/maintenance department and ask the same question. I'll get back to you all if I find an answer...

    Re: engine oil question

    Well, I got the answer...

The "Oil Changed Required" comes on every 6 months or 7,500 miles whichever comes first.

So If you don't do all 7,500 miles in 6 months you will get the same warning. Simply reset the oil usage warning. Listed in the Mustang owners manual - not the shelby guide.

    Hope this helps.
