You may want to contact Walt and Chip Hane, at their Shelby shop, EPS, located in Evergreen, Co. It’s just outside the Denver area. 303-674-6017. They should be able to connect you with all the Shelby happenings in that part of the country.

As Jay mentioned in the previous post, I own 6S087 and know the owners of 086, 081 & 080. So if you want to make contact with some owners of cars close to yours shoot me a PM or an email.

Hi All: Brand new to this forum. I own 67 GT350 #0022. Owned it since May 1973. Inboards, slanted grill. Only original items missing from the car when I purchased were: Steering Wheel, Under Dash Gauges and harmonic balancer. Bought used wheel in '76 and repro gauges soon after, followed by used balancer. Car had 78,000+ miles on it when bought and presently has 89,500 miles. Off the road from '73 to '85 doing a thorough clean up, rust removing (ahhhh Wisconsin Winters-can't beat 'em) refurbishing and mechanical check. Nothing professional-only many volunteer amateurs. Car had been painted dark blue before I received it and I had original wimbledon white sprayed back on while off the road. Even though early, it does not have the upper scoop lights. The wiring is attached on the backside of the scoop, however, it was not attached to the wiring harness that went from underdash to taillights, (it just hung from the back of the scoop inside the plastic interior pieces) nor was there any sign of a receptacle on the outside scoop which would allow any lighting source or cover to be attached. No indentations or apparent tampering are present. Any other early cars not have the lights? Of Note: When I took the car apart in the 70's both upper interior scoops had "WHITE#22" written in grease paint on the fiberglass. Also, the taillight panel when removed said "GREEN #12" crossed out and underneath written "WHITE #22." Great site and hope to hear from others. Jim

Jim most likely the upper scoops have been worked on . The scoop lights were very consistant that early in production . The statement you made that there was "no indentations " is also a obvious clue for those familar with 67 fiberglass because even cars 2,000 units later often had shrinkage in that area indicating the same mold was used and filled for non scoop light scoops. It often takes a far amount of work to get that area smooth on even a later non scoop light scoop ;) .

Jim , if you ever decide to put the scoop light backs I have a set of originals and a set of later replacement lens and receptacles that I was holding for a European owner and his friend who has never sent payment for them so private message me if you are interested. Bob

I have a 1970 GT 350 vin 2998. It's white with a red interior. 351w, 4 speed. I have owned it for 14 years and have restored it and done a bunch of mods along the way. Rebuilt engine: hyper pistons, comp extreme energy cam kit, comp roller rockers and screw in studs, Holley carb, pertronix iginiton and coil, 3 core radiator and flex fan, Centerforce 2 clutch, rebuilt trans, Hurst shifter, rebuilt rear ( swapped in 2:47 gears ), added extra leafs to rear springs, Koni shocks, subframe connectors, monte carlo bar. Paints a little rough, but it's a blast on the highway!

#0089, nightmist, 4 sp, side markers. Will replace owner added chrome headlight rims with painted ones used during that early production time period. Looking for info on early cars that used rods to hold up hoods. Also looking for original early flat gas popup cap. Impossible!
Short block is non matching. This block was discovered by SAAC to belong to an existing 66 GT350. After the original owner and I met, we worked out an equitable deal and he now has his original short block back, which was stolen from a machine shop over 30 years ago. Thanks SAAC!

Damm. Didn't notice this was an old old thread. Lots of nice lookin cars in here. Bought our 66 in 1974. Drove it for one summer. Has spent its life in a barn since then. Had a 427 Cobra in 1976/80. Lots of other old Fords over the years.

    Missed this thread too...
I've had #2928 for 32 years. Paxton and side marker lights added some time before that. Automatic swapped out for the 4 speed just prior to my purchase.

My father is putting the last Shelby GT350 ever produced during the classic 1965-1970 years for sale in the RM Auction next weekend in Monterey California. I just figured you guys here are all enthusiasts and may enjoy the car or know somebody looking for a piece of Shelby history! Please see the details below and you can PM me or message me with any questions. Thank you!

RM AUCTION MONTEREY, CALIFORNIA - AUGUST 16, 2013

    LOT 157 - NO RESERVE

THE VERY LAST SHELBY GT350 EVER!

    THE END OF THE LINE!

    (SHELBY AUTOMOTIVE 1965-1970)

    1970 Shelby GT350 Fastback

    Chassis no. 0F02M483294

The very last Shelby GT350 serial number produced

One-of-one build specification in rare Grabber Yellow

    Documented matching-numbers car

Sympathetic, high-quality restoration performed by noted expert Ed Meyer

The GT350 in question, 0F02M483294, started its life on June 19, 1969, as the only GT350 Fastback ordered with an automatic transmission, ac, HD suspension, Grabber Yellow paint, black bucket seats, and an AM/8 Track stereo radio, among many other options, according to its Marti Report. Most importantly, it was the final GT350 to come off the production line; therefore, it was the final 1969/70 Shelby built, and the last of the entire production and history of SHELBY AUTOMOTIVE 1965-1970.
The current owner commissioned Ed Meyer, national concours judge and Shelby authority, to go over 0F02M483294 and complete a light restoration in 2006, in order to make the car as original as possible. Meyer described the car as “the finest GT350 he’d ever seen.” Thus, Meyer only installed minor items, such as correct driver’s lights and a few replacement service parts. This car comes complete with its original window sticker, build sheet, pink dealer order sheet, warranty papers, invoice from Shelby Automotive, individual transportation invoices from Ford, A.O Smith, Kar Kraft, and Luke Bolton Ford, and letters from the Shelby American Automobile Club, further certifying its originality and provenance. After leaving Kar Kraft, this GT350 was delivered to Luke Bolton Ford, in Plantation, Florida, the state in which it has spent the entirety of its life, reveling in a car-friendly climate. It was purchased by its third and current owner in 1980, who has pampered the car in every possible respect and driven it less than 200 miles since its acquisition.

This Shelby GT350 is possibly one of the most well-documented, unique, and unmolested 1970 GT350s offered for sale. As the last Shelby GT350 to roll off the line, 0F02M483294 represents the end of an era for Shelby. This car presents a fantastic opportunity for the discerning collector that is looking for a chance to buy a top-quality, one-of-a-kind museum car with a unique place in SHELBY history.
290 bhp, 351 cu. in. V-8 engine with Autolite four-barrel carburetor, FMX Cruise-O-Matic transmission, factory “heavy-duty” independent front suspension with coil springs, asymmetrical leaf springs with live rear axle, and power front disc brakes and rear hydraulic drum brakes. Wheelbase: 108 in.
The updated GT350 of 1969 introduced a number of stylistic and mechanical changes and, like any good car, a touch of drama. The GT350’s new engine was a Windsor 351-cubic inch V-8, registering 290 brake horsepower. Cosmetic changes included a new grille, hood, side ducts to help cool the engine and rear brakes, and an overall body length that grew by four inches.

Ford wanted to keep consumer interest in the GT350 alive, leading to some corporate mischief. Ford sent the 788 unsold 1969 Shelbys to Kar Kraft, the aftermarket shop that assembled the Boss 429 in Dearborn, Michigan, to outfit them with hood stripes and a chin spoiler. Ford made these modifications in 1969 in order to avoid an upcoming federal law that required the installation of an anti-theft locking steering column in 1970. Upon leaving factory grounds for a third time, these unsold 1969 Shelbys were given new VIN numbers and data plates for 1970, since the FBI destroyed the 1969 data plates. The GT350 in question, 0F02M483294, started its life on June 19, 1969, as the only GT350 Fastback ordered with an automatic transmission, Grabber Yellow paint, black bucket seats, and an AM/8 Track stereo radio, among many other options, according to its Marti Report. Most importantly, it was the final GT350 to come off the production line; therefore, it was the final 1969/70 Shelby built.

Your logic is slightly flawed. #483294 is the last sequentially numbered GT350 built but there is another 69/70 Shelby which is a GT500 that has a sequential number higher then 483294 listed in the SAAC registry. That car would be considered the last 69/70 Shelby serialized. #483294 is still a cool car.

It is the last Shelby GT350 ever produced and that is documented clearly. Thanks.

The last chassis in the series perhaps, but also perhaps not the last GT350 produced as Shelby/AO Smith was known to grab cars off the parking lot at random, and not in sequential order.

69 #1081, sold new in Dothan Alabama, soon after relocated to the Salinas California area. Found parked in early 80's, amature restomod into a club track car. Relocated to Arizona, then to Texas where it was purchased by me. Brought back east to Indiana where it has been returned to mostly original specs. Driven about 1000 miles per year. Runs and drives like new, but still a work in progress.
