eljimbo, they are externally the same as any other t5 but with a steel collar instead of alluminum and a few morebetter pieces inside to handle...
t5z was original equipment on i belive the 93 mustang cobra.but dont quote me on that.but ford racing sells them new. you can check there specs...

swapped out a t5 for a t5z tranny.difference is first gear is a 2.95 instead of 3.35.much better,less revs more torque.also 5th gear was swapped...
to bill h. i would suggest going with the .82 5th gear. if your car is that radical your still going to have a good top speed. i have the .63...

yea, you bet.the gears on the highway feel right.doesnt feel like its bogging the way it did with the 3.50 gears. fifth gear was pointless around...
had swapped out 3.50 gears and had installed 3.89 gears.this is for a 68 gt350.i love the ratio change.was concerned about the low t5 first...
thanks for the reply. for your info ive got 225/65 on frt. and 245/60 on rear.these are mounted on shelby 10 spokes. no problem with clearances.
do p255 60 r 15 fit on the back with out rubbing? im looking at bf goodrich ta's
