Hey all - just bought back my 86 GLHS from the friend I sold it to in 89 (thus my signature ) I've been into trucks and offroading recently, so bear with me as I get back up to speed on these great little cars - I'm sure I'll have plenty of questions. Looks like a great site
Welcome to the site Ed! Love to hear some info and see photos of your GLH-S. Are you also into Glocks? robin
Thanks Robin - I love my old car, but that's what it is right now, unfortunately...my friend used it as his daily driver for the past 17 years and it shows. I'll get some pics up when I get a chance. Some info on it: #030 - bought it in Detroit. I live in the Baltimore area and couldn't find one here in 86 when I was looking to buy, so I called the Chrylser regional office for some help. They searched and couldn't find one anywhere on the east coast, so I asked for the closest dealer that had one. She told me there were two at this dealership outside Detroit (closer to Dearborn, IIRC) so I called them and put a deposit on it. Flew up there the next week and drove it home. No, I wasn't a rich kid - I knew I wanted to be the original owner of a Shelby car and this was my chance - I busted my butt to pay for that thing... Well, college called and sadly I had to sell it in order to afford to go to school. Luckily my friend is a gear head and Shelby fan (he has a 66 and 67; both GT350s) and offered to buy it. We made the deal and he's owned it ever since - until now It'll be a driver 'til I can put it up and work on getting it back in shape (when my truck is done) And yeah, I dig Glocks - got a model 21, as if ya couldn't tell...(13 rounds of .45 should do the trick)
