    I,am paying 10K over

    Friends,
I long time friend who owns a dealership here in AZ is getting from me 10K over sticker and I,ve know him for 19yrs!!!! I put down deposit back in May 2005 and I was ready to money down in Feb 05. He stated he didn't have any info at the time and he will let me know. He states he is only getting 2 Shelbys and I should have a word by May or June.
I guess Hell if they,re only getting a few units why would'nt they try for a home run I just wish it was only a single! LOL. I like the idea we,re talking about GT40 Horsepower for the most part and its in a 40K auto. I guess when you stop by any of the Ford dealerships dont drop the soap.

    Ha,ha,ha,ha. :laf:

I think they'll make enough to go around. Just wait and you should be able to pick one up for list or close to. That's my gut feeling anyway but I guess we'll just have to wait and see how it all unfolds.

Hey daltondavid, this is one of your local dealers. Do you know anything about them?

:thumbdown I just saw the auction on eBay before I checked here!! Chapman FORD's Owner "Ray Chapman" just Died a few weeks ago. for those of you who may remember a Horse by the name of "Smarty Jones" who won the Kentucky Derby a year or two ago, Ray Owned him. I assume his Family now does. so between getting $100,000 Dollars a Pop for their Horse to get laid, they now want the same price from you to get the same "Specialty Service" that their Horse gives to Mare's! It sucks. it seems like a lot of hype to me. How many FORD dealer's are there?? can they all get a sick premium?? Not from me that is for certain! I'll buy a Trade in next year or go to an insurance auction and buy a wreck and rebuild it before Smarty Jones dumps his "Special Sauce" on me!

I just realized something, the 99K "By it now" price is the amount over sticker. So that would be a total of about $140K. Sounds good to me.

I wish Ford would step in and say these cars are going to be sold at list price and thats it. If you can't sell it at list then you don't get one.

I know that some of you would'nt pay over sticker, but my dealer has said all along that 10k over was what its going to cost. I am number 1 on a list of them getting 2 cars. I think that the auction is a joke, but maybe 100k to some one that has the money is like 10k over to me.Its ford not steping up to the plate to say they cant do this that is wrong.

10k over sounds like a pretty good deal to me to get one right away and not wait around a year or two.

I just went to a FORD dealer today and informed him that I would order a car today. I am not interested in going over MSRP for the siimple fact that out of the estimated 10,000 FORD dealerships out there, they are not all going to the Mark up premium. I pointed out the fact that the GT premium was a failed experiment. they are going to think about it....

Let's not forget that ALL Ford dealers aren't involved in this....as I understand it only SVT licensed dealers can sell the new GT500.

The site to which I belong started a "gouging list" back in January. It got around 6 replies, then went dormant for a couple of months. In early March, it re-emerged, and now has over 3,000 views plus 107 replies. Included in the thread are dealers who are participating in the auction, dealews who are backing out of agreements, and so on. This is a widespread issue, and there quite possibly may be some in your area. :noway: Maybe you'll find it useful.

Haven't you looked at our classified section? Aquack's '86 GLH-S would put the new GT500 to shame and at one third the cost.

I agree, and was blown away at the audacity of some dealers asking for, and getting no-less, markup "deposits" on eBay. Typical dealer gouging, and stupid-money that follows, when supply is low and demand high. I would wait it out, and see how the supply-side of the economics equation works.
