After waiting months, I was able to palce my order for a 2007 Shelby GT 500 Coupe...T88 is the option code for a coupe. Performance Whtie (HP) w/Vista Blue strips (858). Black/Charcoal inertior(GW)/Sirius Radio (50S)/Shaker 1000 Audio(918)/Premium interior.(68S) Now the wait... T88
Thats great but when I looked at the Sirius Sattelite radio & where they put it on the F-150's its ugly & flat black & looks like a half an egg? might want to check that out & find out where it will be mounted on the car?
There will be a small approx 2"x 2" antenna (expalained as a "bubble")on the deck lid. It is black. T88
Are you guessing? How did you confirm this? Nobody so far including the dealers have been able to even find out. I even know people that work at Ford &they don't know.
Factory? Do you know someone at the Mustang assembly plant? & can they get a picture of it so we can see it?
No pictures... Was a recollection from a contact I have at the factory...Good source however. Said today that MSRP will be released in 2 weeks, and they expect 8000 units, 70% coupe, 30% convertible. But remember nothing is for sure. I guess it's part of the mistique of the Shelby...Remember they arn't in production yet...He did say job one day (Ford lingo for start of production) was mid June, first units ship in July.
Does anyone have details on the interior trim upgrade package? The description on the order form doesn't describe it well enough for me to envision the upgrade. Any pics out there?
The premium interior package, as I understnd it consists of the following: 1. Wrapped and stitched instrument pannel brow, center console, and upgraded door arm rest. 2. Electrochromic rear view mirror w/compass. 3. Aluminum pedal covers. All in all, I don't think it's much differnt than "stock" GT 500 interior, but I did order this option (68S)....
Hi, I'm new the forum. I've been a member of the SAAC-MCR for a number of years. I joined to get into open-tracking my 86GT convertible. I probably could start a new thread, but will ask my question here. I have been calling various dealers in my area about the availability of the new Shelby. I have read in other threads about the same waiting lists and the basic dealer handling of this vehicle that I have come across. I was getting a little discouraged until I found a dealer the other day. They told me they were gauranteed 3 vehicles and they had deposits for 2. If I came in and put a deposit down I would be the 3rd. I did that, but at the same time was told that they had no ordering information. When they were given the go-ahead, I would come in and make my order selections. Is there a dealer list in which Ford is using to let them order these cars in? I'm just trying to make sure I'm not being taken by this dealer. I don't know what they would get out of it other than to hold my money and anger a customer. Thanks
For one thing, Ford hasn't announced dealer allocations yet, so I would be a little wary of the "guaranteed 3 vehicles" line. Ford won't be setting allocations until after all dealers have submitted their certification to sell the car, which has an April 30, 2006 deadline. Other than that, all I can say is get EVERYTHING in writing, and make sure, preferably, the General Manager signs it (not just a sales guy). Make sure it states clearly that you will get the 3rd allocation. Also, make sure it outlines pricing (e.g. $XX over MSRP) so they don't try to turn this into an auction. I was #3 on a list and ended up getting screwed when the dealership changed their mind and went the auction route and I lost my spot in line. I eventually got one ordered at another dealership, but I made sure the GM of the dealership signed a 3 page contract outlining every detail. (I think he thought I was insane )
So.. how much is it costing you over MSRP? I think I will just keep my '68 at this point it's just nutty some people are paying 20K over list
