I have considered placing an original Shelby CAN-AM on the B-J auction but I am intimidated by their "no reserve" suggestion.

If I could get a $25,000 minimum I might consider the gamble.

    What is your view?

There are other people on the forum with much more experience selling these cars than me. Someone here may know someone who is interested in your car.

With that said, with a no reserve auction buyers know the car is going to sell and there becomes a competitive and emotional attachment that tend to drive the prices higher. You need two buyers to make that work in your favor.

Everything thing I have sold on ebay (golf clubs to a Grand Cherokee) I have sold at no reserve and have had great success.

At a Barret Jackson auction I think you would do ok.

    Just my $.02

Vintage race cars are a very small market, so it is definitely a gamble. On the other hand, $25K for a vintage racer sounds very reasonable to me. Does the car have a documented history? Race cars with a winning history usually sell well.

As always, the B-J talking heads fail to have anything intelligent or correct to say when a Real Shelby comes on stage. a White 67 GT500 A/C car comes up. as they were showing the car, one of the "Know it alls" chimes in with, "The Dual Quads came on the KR model so this one obviously has been modified a bit which should hurt the price...." and then the other idiot not to be out done states: " Shelby had an extensive aftermarket outlet and people would put these items on their cars back then but....."!! the Car brought $210,000 Dollars matching Dr. PHil's car that had sold for the same number, some Foreign job that I was surprised he even fit in..what is the ironic thing here is that Craig Jackson who claims to be such a Shelby Fanatic should at least educate the clowns on Speed channel about his favorite Marque!! If it is not a Hemi or Chevy, they do not like it is how it seems.

the Resto Mod 68 GT500 is a Clean looking job with just the right items tweaked! brought a healthy dollar for having had that work done. maybe the Concours only crowd is having to make room at the Bank for guys that like to "Have it their way!":laf:

What do you think that car would have brought in stock condition?
