Could anyone please provide the diminsions for a 69 GT500 air cleaner base? I need the height, diameter and snorkle length. Will one from another 428 car work? Thanks.

The 69 GT 500 base is the same base that came with the 69 torino/fairlane cougar Ram Air cars. They are tough to find in good shape. The Snorkel is the same on all CJ/SCJ cars. I would like to give you some demensions but the only one I have is at work and I am in the middle of repainting it. Hopefully someone will have that info for you and a couple of pictures. The Q code/Boss 302 style is different. Alot of guys will make a base out of this base on ebay, it is real close and can faked.

I measured the original air cleaner of #858 and found it is 16 3/8 diameter, 2 7/8 inches high. The snorkel is 10 inches. The problem is most hipo air cleaners (including ram air) have a flat bottom, most lopo air cleaners have a domed bottom. Did you know the ram air seals are not the same on GT350 and GT500 in 1969? :guns: :guitar:
