    Hey guys,
Anyone have any luck putting an order and deposit down on a 07
Shelby?. The dealers here will not order it for anyone. When they
get the dealer ordered one in they will sell it to the highest offer. I
    told them I will buy a Z06 for 65K then a Shelby..

I have given up on ordering one of these beauties. I plan to buy one after
Ford has flooded the market and supply drowns demand. That shouldn't take
    long. Joe Bright.

I was informed that any offer starting at 20K over sticker was acceptable.
For 60-65K, I am with Cevon give me the ZO6

  4. These dealers are so hard up to make as much as they can over sticker!
There are over a dozen auctions on eBay right now to be the highest bidder
above sticker,. gimme a break! I hope these dealers get stuck with them, like
    some Ford GTs.

  5. I guess the dealers are trying to recoup from getting stuck with all their
    Ford Gts at ridiculous prices

Tell your area dealers you'll be glad to buy a 2008 GT500 for A-Plan price and that you don't want any of the left-over 2007s.

Make sure you go to a dealer that has a Ford GT still.

I too am on hold. My dream is crushed by the greed of the dealers. Since I don't have to be the first on the block with one, I'm with Joe. When sense and inventory returns to the new Shelby scene, one will be in my garage too. SEE Y'ALL

Re: Re: Any luck buying a 07 Shelby?

Many people have been bashing the dealers for "price gouging", being greedy, etc. Then I watch eBay, and see plenty of private individuals selling "their place in line", or turning around a brand new GT500 they have ordered. Market price is what people will pay - and I don't see any reason why dealers should be forced to sell cars at MSRP, if the buyer could then turn around and sell the car for a profit!

That said, it is not the greed of the dealers that has put me off, but the attitude. I read an article sent to Ford dealers about the Ford GT, estimating that 90% of Ford GT buys would walk through the showroom door in the first three months, but that Ford wouldn't be able to produce enough to sell to them all for eighteen months. Almost everyone I know who has shopped for a 2007 GT500 has been screwed around by a dealer, and I think that the dealers have turned a lot of potential buyers off. So, its not dealer greed, but dealer stupidity!

In any case, since they cut Yellow and replaced it with "Grabber Orange", I am definately holding on for next year - there are so many rumours of further "special" models to come from Ford, I am really hoping for a 2008 GT500KR model...

    Regards,
    Chris.

I just got 7 pages of Fax from a friend of mine showing all his order stuff,
He got it for a lot less than sticker, just goes to show if the dealer will
    treat a good customer well
