Headers

Hello Everyone,
I have been asked by a friend if there are any issues with running a
car on open headers? Any precautions? He is not concerned about the
legal issues at this point.

Other than noise, heat, and exhaust fumes there is nothing to worry about.

if he is running open headers for more HP then that is not the way to go. he
will need an extension pipe off the end of the collector that is roughly
18-24 inches long and the same size as the collector to reach truly peak HP from
an open exhaust.

also at the higher RPS he could be throwing flames from the open pipes
depending on the state of tune. are those open flames going to get near a fuel
line?? that could be dangerious and or could change the density of the fuel
which will lean the car.
