    I thought I would put this out to the group. I am just compiling a nice history book for a 67 GT500 and a 68 GT500kr convertible. I am looking for things like original owners manuals, ads, promos, etc..

    I know ebay has this stuff from time to time but just curious as to other sources and what one can expect to pay for say an original 67GT500 owners manual.
    I saw one for $2500 not sure if that is the norm or if the guy was stoned. Just diving into this end of the hobby and looking for some guidance from those with more experience.

    Tough question. I started collecting Shelby literature, manuals, catalogs, and pictures long before I bought my first Shelby. Therefore, I might be on the other end of the spectrum from that guy who paid $2500. I believe an original 1967 manual should be should be availible for a fifth that in poor-fair, but useable, condition. I believe the price can go lower if the manual has been marked up with owner / vehicle information. I am certain the price can go much higher if great condition or NOS. Hope this helps .....

    20 years ago, a 67 owners manual went for less than $100. The last one I saw went for more than $500! I hope these cloner mopes aren't buying them for their clones.
    But, Shelby literature in general has gone way up. I'm glad I bought mine some time ago.

    One other thing that shows up on FOOLbay is those non-colored "original owners manuals" for 67. Maybe so, but there was also a batch of non-colored repops. Better look for that Union printed stamp before you get fooled.

    Hey, roddster, I've got a 4-color owners manual in....

    my '67 G.T.500. Please explain specifically to me how to know if it is original. Thanks so much for your help. I am very, very grateful.

    I am concerned that I may be a "cloner mope".... What do you mean by that? I don't have an original 67 manual.

    According to SAAC, Shelby original, back in the day literature would have been printed at a Union printing shop, so, there is always this little "union" stamp somewhere on it.

    Cloner mope: one who has a clone, and yet pretends that it is a real Shelby.

    You can also get some reproduction documents from a company that I think is called Osborne productions. They sell on eBay as well as other places. There may be other reproduction companies as well. Aside from eBay just look in the back of Year One or other cataloges. Anyway, that could get you some reproduction items while you search for the originals.
