I know this may be far fetched, but if memory seems correct, the reason Ford could not market the Mustang in Europe, was that a bicycle manufacturer had a trademark on that name. Because Ford refused to buy out the trademark for $13,000?, they had to use the name T5 in Europe. Does anyone know if Ford ever bought out that patent? Anyone know how to research the patent office to make sure? Ron
What about the SMU Mustangs in University Park, TX Do you think Ford will go after them? The problem is that they can go after everyone and anyone. It is up to the person to defend themselves. Basically it is a situation that sucks. Lee 66 # 869 69 # 2055
I do not believe they can go after a sports team as there is no relation between the auto industry and the sports team. It is my understanding that if you wanted to make a mustang skateboard and use the horse as a logo and the mustang script and horse do not look like the ones that ford uses, then you can do that as long as nobody else is in that industry. bob
