The GT40 name was never the offical name of the car. If I remember the car became known as the GT40, by someone starting to call it that at it's first race. So someone taking the so called name and trademarrking it would not have been objectionable at the time. At least that is my thoughts about it. Lee 66 # 869 69 # 2055
