I'm new here so take it easy with me. I have Z 67213F5A02545. I have the Ford VIN. What do I do to verify the numbers match? Is it true or not true (I've read both in SAAC material) the 1967 289 engine does not have a VIN stamped on it? Will the transmission have a VIN? If so, where is it located? Is it true/not true the VIN on the chassis can be nearly anywhere? I owned the car 24 years. With only 3 owners (I'm the third) I'm hopeful to find the broadcast sheet. Any hints of it's location?

The Vin was left off some engines but is on many. Manual Transmissions had the FORD vin on them as well as on the inner fenders. SAAC will only confirm or deny what you have. they will not tell you what it is "Supposed to Be"!! contact Dave Matthews as he is the registrar and will gladly assist you.

My '67 did not have a VIN on the block. It was a Hi Po and the production date on th block was right in line with car production. On the body, the only place on the inner fender the Ford VIN was located was under the Shelby tag and then under the lip of the fender right beside it. The car had all of its original panels.

Ford VIN is on the panels, no problem there. I've already contacted Dave Mathews. The VIN is not on the engine block, a Hi-pro.
6S263, What would be the appropriate timing of the car's production and the engine's production to be "right in line"? a month? a week? 6 months? As for an automatic, will there be a number? Where?
    Thanks, Sooner

    Hi,
    My 1965 (5S275) Shelby's engine was assembled on May 3, 1965
and the car arrived at Shelby's plant at LAX on May 13, 1965.
That gives about one week difference between engine and
car assembly. Engine has the Ford number stamped on the block.
    Both heads are dated 5C18.

I own a 67 GT 350 #2325 and my FORD VIN was stamped on the transmission (4spd) main case on the bottom tab facing the rear of the car. Your broadcast sheet may be under the rear seat.
