The yellow car was a prototype that was making the rounds last year. I believe it's purpose was to guage public reaction to styling changes from the original prototype. The pre-production versions shown lately have added back elements of the original. Namely, the rear diffuser, faux GT500 gas cap, and SHELBY lettering (although the latter is offset). robin
You can also Buy the Ford SHELBY lettering. It has been given a Ford part #7R3Z-6342528-AA. $38.06US Peel off the side SHELBY lettering and spread the new Ford S H E L B Y lettering across the botton of the decklid. At least this way, you'll maintain the correct Ford 'typset'. Personally I think that the Shopshelby lettering looks too old for the new Shelby. Not contemporary enough to suit the look of the car.
This is getting TOTALLY disgusting ! ! ! ! The car they're about to produce looks like utter CRAP and we're trying to find ways to make it look better and NONE of us have an MSRP or even seem to like the changes made from the prototype to the production vehicle and we're already looking for more attractive lettering! ! ! I can tell you all now, I would never pay the price thier going to be asking if it doesn't look exactly like the prototype. There is NO need for Ford to find cost cutting methods for a price tag in the $45,000 range. LeMans stripes should be painted all the badges should be as they are on the prototype, the brake light should be on the spoiler as planned. I still don't under stand the GT500 name tag, the 5.4 is a small block not a big block. It should be a GT350. I like the fact it has 500 bhp an incredible feat for a small block, but it was the GT 350 that gain the Shelby's thier noterioty. But hey what do I know, I think they should ALL be white with blue stripes for this first model like the originals and only 2 seaters to boot. When Shelby first did this in the 60's he was trying to make RACE cars, not the fastest grocery getter in town! ! ! ! ok sorry for the RANT
