I saw a total of 4 Hertz Shelbys on a trip to Las Vegas last weekend. Two random sightings on the road (one right next to our cab), and two on the Hertz lot. Has anyone seen any in other cities? Jon
I rented one in San Francisco two weeks ago for two days. When I walked to the counter to pick the car up it was pure confusion while they figured out how to handle getting me the car. They finally had someone walk me down to the 1st floor where the cars were located. They even had one under a disco ball for everyone to see as they walked into the garage. After about a half hour they finally brought my rental out. Hertz gave me a $50 dollar credit on a future rental for having to wait We then went over every Shelby specific part on the car to make sure they were present and not damaged in any way. The most unusual part was the thin cable they had from the engine block to the frame to insure the engine had not been out of the car. That reminded me of the stories of people pulling the block out of their rentals in the sixty's and replacing them with common V8s. The car only had 9.7 miles on it so I was the first to drive it off the lot. I loved the car. Not the fastest, but very confortable and drove great. Tom
