Just received the first Shelby at the dealership that I work at . At first look it is very impressive . It even has the SVT logo on the sillplate, but the disappointment came when we looked at the striping. The stripes looked better in the 60's. The stripes stop short of the back of the roof. The stripes overlapped on the rear spoiler with the bottom part of the stripe wider than the top. If I am going to pay the price that Ford wants for this car they need to pay more attention to details and paint the stripes on
Re: 2007 Shelby Disappointment I was just at SAAC, saw Shelby conv. and 4 Hertz cars, Car and Driver had 3 of them. But what was a disappointment was that the Shelbys are not numbered they are just factory cars, the Hertz cars are numbered and are built by Shelby. I also got to watch all 4 Hertz cars race at VIR
Re: 2007 Shelby Disappointment Stripes: Welcome to modern assembly techniques. They're NOT going to send the car through the paint booth again. Nor are they going to add another spray booth for stripes (until Toyota does) "Shelby" number: The car's vin number will be the Shelby number. To me, this is OK, no goofy aluminum plates to 1)get mis-stamped, 2) sold over the counted so 30 years from now some cloner can do more make-believe to some old shell. And, if you don't buy it due to either of these issues, I'll bet somebody else will.
Re: 2007 Shelby Disappointment I think if you drive one of these cars, you won't care anymore about the stripes.Looks are important, but this car is soooooo much fun to drive.....get it with out the stripes, paint your own......driving this car is the main thing.Putting a "disappointment" label on this car because of the stripes is a disappointment.
