I was stopping by a buddy's place and he had his weight scales out today. I decided to see if Ole Shel was accurate or just a great salesman with his claimed weight for the GT350.

Some of the press releases for the '65 claimed 2800lbs at the curb. That would imply a full tank correct?

My '66 checked in at 2858 lbs with almost 1/2 tank of 93 octane (+ octane booster and some lead). The car is full std Shelby spec, 4spd, 15x7 Vintage 45 wheels and 225/50-ZR15 tires, no floormats, no spare, with a full interior w/radio, carpet, folding rear seat and OEM bumpers.

I'd bet that if I left the rear seat and bumpers at home, we'd be in the 27xx range.

Not bad and another claim confirmed.

    I love this car!!!
