I saw a 1965 GT350 Shelby Mustang on EBay a few weeks ago. One of the questions asked of the seller was inquiring if the car was a "W" car. I have never heard of that designation before. Could anyone please explain to me what a "W" Car is? Thanks.
I believe he is referencing this auction. Read the Q & A near the bottom. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=300006371166&ssPageName=ADME:B:EF:US:11
I could be wrong, but i think W code is for a 67 with the 427 engine from the factory, which I believe were only 3 made. or something like that.---S.
Wrecked, I have talked to this owner and no it has never been, the car in question though was drag raced very hard in the late 60's and took it's toll, that's why very little remains original, rear assembly, trans and engine are gone. Both rear quarters repaced with aftermarket and both front fenders , the owner is wishing for 195,000 based on the BJ auction which a 1965 sold for over 300,000, this type of car is why an original correct car gets the hugh dollars, a lot of 1965 Shelby's were beat to death and found there way to the bone yards very early in their life. "Wrecked", never would have come up with that. Was thinking along Whitey's lines, was going to suggest "westored".
