Thanks for the info Dan,I am in Vegas for a furniture Market and rented a
Shelby H after ready your email and realizing they had them at the airport.
DUH. The car is nice. It was funny, the guy at the airport Hertz said he
had to give me a 10 minute instruction on the use of the car. It wasn't so
much instruction as much as it was what they expected on the car when it
came back like decals, hoods, engines etc. Under the hood they have all the
bolts safty yellow painted on the threads so to try and tell if you
tampered and a security wire crimped from the shock tower to the engine to
indicate if you tried to take the engine out. It was a scream. Runs pretty
good too.The valet at Harrahs eyes lighted up when I pulled in.I will find
out tomorrow if it is Ferris Buellers day off all over again. Bob G.

Only thing I hated was the very limited miles allowed...... guess this is
typical for the high end stuff..... not the sub- sub- compacts I normally
    have to rent ;)

    >>>I just returned from a trip to France and Germany, where my buddy insisted

on renting a car from Hertz's "prestige" line, in this case a BMW 525d (a
5-series BMW powered by a 2.5 liter turbodiesel). I balked at the expense but he
said he'd pay for the whole thing. When we got to the pickup counter, they
told us that the weekly rental rate was 1200 Euros but that it only included
1000 km; there was a per-km charge after that.

To make a long story short, when we turned it back in one week later, he got
handed a bill for 2940 Euros or something like that--or in human terms, on the
order of $4000!!!!! Yes he can afford it, but it was an expensive lesson!

On the flip side, it got outstanding fuel economy, even on the Nurburgring....

There were a couple of GT-Hs at the Bellevue, WA Mustang Roundup show on
7/16. The guy who rented one said Hertz had messed up and given him
unlimited miles for 3 days. Other than stopping at the show he was
driving the crap out of the car, almost non-stop he said.
