TheCarSource.com Shelby Mustang List ------------------------------------ I had a similar experience to Andy Killian's' . Being a child of the 60's I looked at some of those older cars, you know the pre-60's cars with disdain. Why would anyone want a big old boat that handled like a truck, couldn't get out its own way or looked like a shark with those big fins. My opinion changed about 20 years ago. I had the opportunity to get acquainted with Nicky Wright, the English photographer, and he loved those old cars. From him I understood the beauty of car design (at least during those years) It was an art. I rode with him often on picture taking excursions. Many of his pictures found their way into lots of books. When I moved to Minneapolis I happened to live next door to a street rodder. I started hanging out with him and the local Street rodders. Yes, there is great beauty in those cars as well. (Although I still have a problem with a Chevy motor in a Ford.) Ironically, it is popular today to "street rod" or update even 60's cars. To each his own. I am a car person. Even though I may prefer a particular car or brand or model I have an appreciation for almost all cars. My favorite car show to attend in Minnesota is the Pontiac GTO club's Muscle Car show. 100's of American Muscle Cars show up. Recently they had to make a decision. New Muscle cars were excluded as well as foreign cars. Where do you draw the line on Muscle Cars?
