Then let's at least get the feds to stop blocking the importation of
ethanol from S. America at a price over 50 cents cheaper than the
production costs in America. This'd immediately give a major boost to
the users of ethanol, who mostly pay almost the same price as regular
gasoline, and that's after huge US gov't "incentives" aka subsidy
payments to farmers & ethanol refiners. It just seems we can never do
things right on energy policy.

It's nice here on the west coast this summer. My son's back for a few
weeks from college and we're enjoying taking the GT500 out every once in
a while. He enjoyed the resto project a few years ago, so now we're
doing a '68 H-D resto and having fun at it.

I think methanol/ethonal is the way we need to look. These are distilled
from plants or plant waste. this would provide a renewable source and a
boom to the farming in this country.

In the ford truck they have a no cost option for the engines so they
will run on gas, alcohol, or any mix of. I believe chevy has the same.
going to this will not change the infrastructure for fuel supply and
will create a conversion market for conversion parts and service on the
older cars.
change seals, gaskets, and hoses in the fuel system and then re-jet the
carb and you are there

I belive alcohol can work because the infrastructure would be nearly the
same and the oil companies can transition to making alcohol. One catch is that
we will still need gas as you have to have at least 15% gas mixed in or you
will never get the engine started. if we start to blend the alcohol in at 30-50%
to start and work from there, the whole system will convert over.

Yes and then we can buy twice as much to get the same performance. And with no savings ... but not sure what this all has to do with the Shelbys... except as an attempt to get us to park them

We will never be able to do without oil just use a percentage of ethanol to cut down on oil use.

Looking for some help on locating a Bernie smith I believe Nevada area. This is for a friend who saw his Shelby on a web site Mustang depo. She is interested in were he purchased the chin spoiler for the car. She is doing a clone 67 350 and has been looking for that spoiler and can not find it listed anywhere. Any help would be appreciated.
