This list has a filter that limits attachments. I set it to 100,000
bytes. So if you attach a picture that exceeds it
the list notifies me and does not forward the email to the group.

So far I have been telling it to go ahead and forward those images.
My question to the group is what is the consensus on how large of an
image or attachment do we want to
allow to go through the list?

I have cable internet so large images/attachments are not an issue.
How about the rest of you? Do any of you
still use dial up where large attachments are an issue? Or are large
    attachments an issue regardless of
what service you have? What limit should I set for attachments to the
    emails from the list?

What bugs me is attachments, that aren't. What I mean is, if you're going to
send an attachment, send it AS AN ATTACHMENT rather than just dragging and
dropping it, and turning it into an embedded image. Most of the time, the
images don't even load properly for me, and it simply locks up the computer for a
few minutes while the e-mail attempts to fully load....

    Guys

When sending an image make sure it isn't larger than 500pxls in length or
width. Make sure it is a jpeg. Many of you send images that are larger
than most screen resolutions which means you have to scroll the image to
view it. This will also cause load problems for the 56k users. Most of
you have a photo software or a digital camera. If shooting digital
designated for the web shoot at its lowest resolution and if you have a
photo you've scanned, open it up with your photo package and resize it for
the web. In some cases it will do it for you and in other cases you can
    select the sizing yourself.

Here is an image I have attached as that is the best way to send an image
as an attachment. Original image is 3000x2000pxls I have sized it at
500x332 @ 72 resolution and it should only take 2 seconds to load for a
56k modem. Of course I would not print an image this size but it is for
web viewing only. If you have any questions drop me a line as I am always
    willing to help.

    regards

    Randall

Further, there are jpeg optimization tools - attached is Randall's
original file and one that has been optimized that is approximately
1/3 the size in bytes. Barely noticeable difference.
