Welcome guests! As of August 20, 2004 we are now a fully functioning site but this is just the beginning. We want your suggestions. Please let me know about any suggestions you may have for better organization, useability or additional features that board members could benefit from. Thanks!!! RS
Re: How can we improve??? You need to open the Avatar up. I would like to use my Avatar or at least a Shelby Dodge Avatar.
Re: How can we improve??? You may use whatever avatar you like as long as it's not offensive. Just click on User CP at the top and then Edit Avatar on te left and then choose Custom Avatar at the bottom. You may upload one or point to the url of one you may already have hosted. RS
Re: How can we improve??? Try again, I posted that last message before making the change. Should work now. RS
Re: How can we improve??? Great site. Thanks for setting it up. Just a question / suggestion...would you anticipate setting up a section in the forum for "kit car" enthusiasts/owners? (If there is already something there, I can't find it.)
Hi Randall: Just a suggestion, how about a section for videos or audios that Carroll Shelby is in? Or videos about the cars? For example the videos that Shelby Automobiles has on their website would be great here. They are awesome. Here is the link: http://www.shelbyamerican.com/gallery/index.asp Juan
I'll look into it Juan. I can't provide that content without permission from the creators of the videos but I'll see what I can work out. Thanks for the suggestion!
Put back a page showing most recent post. It is hard to search each area for hot topics. I loved the old home page show the most recent post to see what is hot. Thanks
i agree with GT500#2100 - it was good to see what had been replied to or started lately. Also Randall, what's the chance of having the model of the month picture on your home page correspond to the actual car ? This is a terrific site and im sure any changes you will make will only enhance the quality. I visit it everyday im on my computer
We are experiencing a slight technical difficulty right now but I assure you that the Latest Threads will return to the front page after a few software bugs are sorted out. Sorry for the temporary inconvenience. You can also look at the main forum page and the left colum will tell you which threads you have not seen yet. When you see the little orange picture, there are new threads/posts in that forum. As for the next question: I guess I'm not exactly sure what you are asking. Could you please clarify? Thanks! Randall
Randall - sorry you've got bugs ........they are a pain. Re my other comment, what i meant was are you able to have a picture of the current model of the month car on your home page under the red writing.......the reason i ask is that at the moment the picture displayed is Charlies SuperSnake, but the CURRENT model of the month featured is the Red number 1 1967 GT500.....people might not clik here to view if they think that they have already read it ???? (just a thort) cheers Graeme.
Oh yes, got it. Very good idea. That was the original intention and can be done without much trouble...it just takes time. I've been swamped at work lately and haven't had enough time to sort through every detail of the site. Minor problems with the software are taking most of my Shelby Forums time right now. So basically I just need to spend more time but I think you've got the right idea with changing the picture. Thanks for the input! Randall
One suggestion - an icon or link to a member's gallery either under or beside the avatar. While it's not a pain to go to the galleries section and find their name to go to their gallery, a little "gallery" icon or link would be a simple, one-click way to get there. Something like this (in Shelby Forums colors):
We don't have an icon but you can get there with two clicks. If you are reading someone's post and want to see what photos they have in their gallery, you simply have to click on their username (upperleft portion of post next to their avatar), scroll down and click "View Member's Photo Gallery." I'll think about the icon because of the visibility factor but this is basically just as quick and easy, people just don't know it's available. Thanks for the suggestion! Randall
Your site is great and I visit it often. I would like to suggest that you add a section for Sunbeam Tigers. Although I love my Shelby, I also have a couple of Sunbeam Tigers. A Tiger section would be great. I'm sure quite a few other Shelby owners also have Tigers.
