I had recently seen a posting regarding the shock towers that were for sale on EBAY for a shelby. I have a 68 GT500 number 725 and only 1 of my towers has the washers. I have owned the car since 1978 and have never replaced the tower. I bought the car from the original owner and do not have any idea if he had replaced it. Do both towers have the washers? What was the purpose of the washers?
    Thanks Kevin

I assume you are talking about shock tower caps, not shock towers. Both sides are supposed to have them. Very common to find threads stripped and were often replaced with standard Mustang caps.
