New Stewart Warner GAUGES

I talked with Stewart Warner on Monday of this week and they told me the release is about 3-4 weeks away for the re-issued Greenlines. Not a moment too soon for me. Ebay is totally out of control for replacements, $200-$300 for no-guaranteed working gauges. And there have been several 2-1/16" dia. versions being sold as "Shelby Gauges" for the 1967 model.

 

I got two from E# bay (Alt and Oil)but both came without the light hole cut in back for my '68 --love to get hold of 'em Any way to "pre" order that you know of? Thanks

 

I was told that, the differece between the old-day greenline guages and todays greenlines is the back of one is brass, and the other is steel. I don't know this for certain. You don't see the backs when they are mounted anyway. But, I figure I'll buy a set "just in case" I ever need them in the future.
There is somebody who has been trying to sell a set with the 67 mounting on ebay for a buy-it now of $4750!!! I'll bet he'll be crying.

Now, why can't somebody ake a deadnuts repop of the 67 Steering wheel? The guy out in Switzerland does a nice job.

 

I spoke to a wholesale parts distributor I buy parts from that happens to be a Stewart Warner dealer. He asked me for part numbers to see if he can pre-order gauges for me. I have to call SW again to see if I can get part numbers. One interesting note, my distributor, who is fairly Mustang/Shelby savy, had no idea that SW was re-releasing the 60's style "Greenline" series. I'm going to call SW and get the 4 part numbers for the 1967 and the 1968. When I get the info., I'll post it here.

On the '67 wheels, my business partner knows an older guy back east that is building a stock wood rimmed wheel for his Facel Vega. He's pricey, I would imagine a '67 wheel copy would run around $3K, by the time all is said and done. A few weeks ago, there was another guy on E-bay that was selling some repro 67 wheels and he was asking $2,400. Those looked ok, but I'm not one to be spending too much money for anything sight unseen. Based on the current goings-on, my Moto-Lita will be in service for quite some time to come!

 

Anyone heard if these have been released? Part numbers?

 

Yes they have ,I have them in stock,very hard to get as of right now,made on a limited quanity.If you want a set,I'm selling them for $260.00 for a pair.
