There has been some discussion about cooling fans for '67 GT350s on here before, and the concensus seemed to be that they did not have a clutch fan fitted, but mine has, and it has all the correct part numbers to suggest that this was original equipment. I wondered if this could be because mine was originally a California car with a Thermactor system fitted. I have just recieved my Marti Report on the car, and in the options it lists 'Extra Cooling Package' - could this have something to do with it? Does anyone know what was included in this option? Thanks for your help on this.
I'm not sure about the "Extra Cooling Package" option and what if anything it really is. My 67 GT350 is a factory A/C car and still has its original Clutch Fan. I will have to check my Marti Report to see if it lists the option you mention. David
All the 67 Gt 350's have the extra cooling package. This included a radiator fan shroud, and supposedly a slightly larger radiator. My early model 67 (#0036) does not have a clutch on the fan. It might have come on an A/C car, but possibly the Themactor system also qualified it too. I'll look in my Osbourne assembly book to see if there is any info about this.
I looked in the Osborne/Fomoc assembly manual. The information is spotty. It does show the clutch fan spacer on an A/C 289 HiPo, with extra cooling, but it does not say anything about a Clutch fan spacer on the Thermactor equipped cars.
I didn't think the extra cooling package came with a clutch, but it was shroud, slightly larger radiator and a 6 blade fan.
The fan blade without the clutch is only a 4 blade fan. Go figure. Some junior judges assume it should be more than that.
according to the mustang recognition guide, the extra cooling pacakge was a 15 quart radiator (standard with V8) and a 6 blade fan (standard with A/c) it does not mention about the shroud or extra capacoty rad or clutch or anything else. rick kopec was involved int his book so its seems accurate but i could be wrong
