Thanks, Jim Jim, We researched the proper color for Hood & Turnk LID ( Under-Side) a couple of years back. Three different answers: Fiberglas can be left un-painted, Black or Body Color. These answers were from Bob Gaines, David Mathews & Mike Williams ( Local Shelby owner, since 1968). Now on the Steel Reinforced Panels, painting Black or Body color would be necessary. TheCarSource.com Shelby Mustang List ------------------------------------ Jim I think you e-mailed about a 67 Shelby trunk lid color on the back side, we have an original 67 unrestored 4000 miles and it is black with the body color over spray, you would have a hard time making it look as bad as they did, the fiberglass on the 67 cars were also sprayed with laquer paint so they would dry faster, thats why all the fiberglass parts always looked so bad so quick. It was good to see it again in VA. It is one of, if not the lowest mileage 67's in the world. And from what I've observed, with the exception of a replacement C9 muffler, it is basically an untouched original car. Your right that car is like we bought it in 1977 and I have never changed anything else.
