    Greetings!

I have heard that some folks have bought from Lowes or Home Depot,
an asphalt kind of material that they have put on the floors, prior to carpet
to help resist moisture and that acts as a sound deadener. Has anyone else
    heard of this?

    Thanks.

One of the local guys just bought a bunch of insulation from Jegs for his Cobra. (Don't remember the name off hand, but I can get it) The problem was the foot boxes got so hot that he actually melted the soles of his shoes. This stuff is designed for sound and heat insulation on street rods and worked like a champ.
Of course, this would be a sacrilege to do to a 1965 Shelby as these cars don't have a floorboard heating problem and the noise is just part of owning a street legal race car. :D

I bought some a year ago from a street rod shop here in Elgin and i put it under my package tray in my 65 Shelby and i could not belive how much it cut the noise down .
