hi mate , what i have been led to beleive is that it was a dealer installed option , this i why i am trying to verify the documentation , Coralsnake great web page on the 68 , is the Maroun KR up on auction next month in chicago Zed
Yes, the maroon convertible is up for auction. We shall see if anyone wants the only one ever made! Not trying to be a piss ant, but it will be hard to prove. Especially since the car is a Hertz car. If the dealer installed after the car came back from Hertz, that would be another story. Sounds an awful lot like the old "factory 427 car" stories. Well, good luck....I hope you can find something.
yep , you said it mate hard to prove , have tried marti for frod invoice but they do not have it on file to produce , i ma trying to contact Ronald steven the owner to find out the history , does anyone have any leadsor best way to obtain some history on this car besides SAAC ,
Did you see the 68 Paxton/Hertz GT350 on e-bay. #01057 sound simular to your car. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1968-SHELBY-GT350H-HERTZ-RENT-A-RACER-ULTRA-RARE-CAR_W0QQitemZ130030079287QQihZ003QQcategoryZ6465QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
That car has been up for sale for over a year. He makes claims about the Paxton but has no documentation. Tim

You have a nice car. I thought I saw some more info on this car come up somewhere. Try the Nevada SAAC. I think I saw info for this car there in the photo section. Good luck. JB
jb are you talking about this web page mate Supercharged 1968 GT 350To be given away by the Friends of the Sea Otters Zed
No not this web page. This is a good web site, but it needs to be updated. There is a lot of interesting stuff on it. I think it is was one of the California Shelby Club web sites that I saw your car on. There was a picture of an older couple that had owned the car. There are a few 68 GT 350s that have had Paxtons put on them right after they were sold from the dealership. In fact there were some over the counter sales for the complete set-ups purchased from Ford Dealerships parts departments. JB
Jb , Gday Mate i have looked hard to verify the paxton stark hickey was the dealer and maybe upon receiving the car back from Hertz he removed the air con and placed the Paxton superchrager . only one way would be, to go of the paxton serial No: and trace the order number who ordered this paxton ,dealers name may come up , not for sure ???? any how thks for your responce , would love to see that page you have mentoined , if it comes up feed it through mate .. i will keep trying to verify this Zed
Good to hear from you. Craig Conolly at Paradise Wheels in California can verify the numbers off of the blower. There is a plate rivited at the top of the blower near the pulley. His phone number is 760-740-0954 and his email is conleyr107@aol.com. Let me know what happens. Thanks, JB
One of the problems with Paxton records is that the Santa Monica CA factory was heavily damaged by a fire in the 1970's and orginal records lost. When I visited in 1985 and talked with owner Vince Grannetelli, he reviewed the SC that I had for my 66 GT350 (not original with car) and could tell a lot from the color and the serial number about when the unit was produced. But they would have no way of knowing which car had the blower installed unless the car was brought to their shop for the installation. Installation and sales of Paxton blowers were done by Ford dealers or their designated installation shops. Not Paxton. The only records available for installation would have to be with the dealer (probably not still available) or owner of the Shelby at the time of installation. The Paxton number will only tell when the said unit was built.
Jb i have emailed Craig with serial Number thks for the lead you never know if you never try , i have just read 66gt350ps post to the thread very informative , thks for your info , whats the go with stark hickey are they till around , these records on this cars are like finding a needle in a hay stack , but heaps of fun and very knowledgeable along the way . one again thks for the reply , Zed
Zed: I know what you mean. I am trying compile a missing part of the timeline for one of my other cars and it is a slow process. Let me know what Paradise Wheels has to offer. Thanks, JB
