I'd say a bit high, but then again, we're in the (&*&(*@&#$ing Barrett Jackson era. I'd think maybe $50's. There were only 78 made w/4 speeds, but that doesn't really matter, I guess, most of those who are concerned with Matching Numbers are really looking for chassis/motor matching. These purchases are really what you are looking for, and what in your heart do you believe is a fair price. I despise B-J for what they're doing the average Joe who wants to have a nice car for themselves. The day after the auction ended, every Shelby ad on Evil Bay mentioned "what this could would have gone for during B-J.... That sucks. If it's the car you want and you can afford it, stroke a check and bring it on home.

The market is tighter than a drum right now. You're right it's a seller's market right now. Seems a little high to me too, but the way the prices keep going up it's hard to know.

I'm sure you looked at NADA.com, but here are the the current prices for the rest of us.

• Low Retail - $34,975
• Average Retail - $51,750
• High Retail - $82,950

So maybe He's not too far off after all.

I agree with Commish, if you like it, go for it and don't look back!

How bad do you want it? How well can you afford it? After you buy it, will you feel better or worse? If you don't buy, will you be talking about the car you should have bought in '05? If it is the deal of year, somebody would have already jumped on it.
I've bought "growth" stocks that I really liked that ultimately went in the toilet. Life is chances and choices, sometimes you just have to pay your money and take your chance. At least you can drive a Shelby.

Last I heard, you only go round once in life. And it is very unlikely you will lose money. Every person I've ever heard who said they had a chance to buy a shelby and didn't regrets it. My2cents.

As per your posted info of the car it seem's to be a fair market price. Matching# all original body panel's, documented low mileage and past ownership add to the overall value. The 4-spd. swap should not hurt the value as most Shelby owner's prefer the enjoyment of running through the gear's. I know of two 66 Hertz concour car's that have sold in the past month for quite a bit more then the asking price of the car that you have posted. Good Luck on your quest. Frank,

 

I have been watching and participating in Shelby/BOSS market for some time. Most 66 GT350's including H's will bring at least 60K. This car might be worth more depending on how much you really want it. If you decide to pass on this car, I have been looking for one for some time now. I passed on two of them back in 2003 when I could have had either one then for 28K! Dumb, what was I thinking?????? I have two 70 BOSS 302's and a 70 GT350. I would sell one of the BOSS's to fund the H. I would pay a finders fee as well. If you have always wanted one, go for it. It may take a while to appreciate above what you pay, but eventually it will. If you don't buy it, you should consider a BOSS 302. Right now, affordable, rising prices as we speak, and fun to drive without the worry of damage like a Shelby. You can still pick up a decent driver BOSS for under 30K, but that won't last long. That is a shame, $75K should have easily got you that Shelby. I was at the B-J and saw the 66 GT sell. It was a special Shelby, many awards, etc... a true #1, still a shocking price though. But you have to keep in mind that B-J is a special auction where people really get into the hype, it is a Vegas-type scene. Also, it is well known for shill bidding, the owners are even bidding on their own cars. One Hemi Cuda ended up getting purchased by its owner (the seller) when one of the bidders found out who he was truly bidding against. Man, oh man, was that sweet!!! The owner got stuck paying both the 8% buyers commission and 8% sellers commission plus tax on his vehicle! He was so pissed and it was so great. YESSSS!!! It also happened on the Boss 429 car that Tim Allen "Tool Time" drove on the block.

The B-J euphoria will wear off in about 4-5 months when sellers see their vehicle not selling "for B-J money". Don't worry, you will get your shot at another Shelby.

 

I made money off Both Shelby's I have owned and sold. the end is no where in sight. I tell everybody to buy now as the high price this year will be a joke next year. demand will continue and in my opinion, Shelbys are just starting to reach their potential.
